December 7th Meeting Recap

Hi all,

Thank you to the members that came to the very informative meeting on Monday! Hopefully you have a better idea of what you can do to be a competitive applicant!

If you couldn’t make the meeting, here’s what you missed:

  • The Minnesota School of Dentistry is hosting the annual Give Kids A Smile Day on February 6, 2015. This is an incredible opportunity to volunteer in a dental setting. To learn more about volunteering or to get more information, please fill out this Google Form(There is no commitment to volunteering by filling out this form, simply a sign-up to get more information.)
  • Kate Hanson, from the School of Public Health, spoke about the DDS/MPH dual degree. This is a great option for anyone interested in working more holistically to address health issues in society.
  • Dr. Naty Lopez, Assistant Dean for Admissions and Diversity at the Minnesota School of Dentistry, presented on what makes a competitive applicant.  She had a LOT of great advice, I strongly encourage you to check out the meeting minutes link here to review her presentation and to review the meeting minutes we wrote up.
  • Members picked up their T-Shirts. Remember, if you ordered a long sleeve t-shirt you must pay $3 when you pick it up! If you couldn’t make the meeting Nick Stokfisz and Eric Bender will be in Goldy’s Gameroom (to the right when you walk in) from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm on Wednesday, 12/16 and from 2 pm – 4 pm on Friday 12/18.
The next Pre-Dental Club meeting will be held on Monday, January 25.
Good luck on finals. May the curve be ever in your favor 😉 Hope everyone has a great winter break!
